Colleges
Continuing one’s education after high school can take many different forms. Depending on the desired career, you can continue your education by earning a certificate, an associate’s degree, or a bachelor’s degree in a wide variety of educational settings. Finding the right place to continue your education is important. You will need to find an institution that matches your educational goals along with the goals of your college experience.
Types
Technical/Trade
Technical schools focus on real world training preparing students for a specific skilled job. Offer certifications and associate degrees (Parker, 2022).
2 year/Community
Community colleges offer associate degree programs and technical certifications. Many students begin here and later transfer to a university. Community colleges offer smaller classes and lower costs (Kerr, 2022).
4 year/University
Universities offer both undergraduate and graduate degrees and can be varying in size and programs. They may be public or private institutions and are known for their diverse environments (Cuellar, 2024).
